VITAGRO Nutrition at PIGS FARMING INDUSTRY 2026

How can pig farms maintain productivity and profitability as market conditions, production requirements, and approaches to pig nutrition continue to evolve? These were among the key issues discussed at PIGS FARMING INDUSTRY 2026.

On September 9-10, the VITAGRO Nutrition team took part in the industry forum in Lviv, which brought together pig producers, industry experts, and technology companies to discuss current challenges and modern pig farming technologies.

One of the important topics addressed at the forum was heat stress in pigs – a factor that can negatively affect feed intake, weight gain, animal health and, consequently, the economic performance of a farm.

Maria Brzestovska, Pig Nutrition Technologist at VITAGRO Nutrition, spoke about the effects of high temperatures on pigs and modern approaches to minimizing the impact of heat stress.

Her presentation covered how heat stress affects feed intake and weight gain, intestinal barrier function, oxidative stress, and the overall condition of animals. Particular attention was paid to nutritional solutions and pig feeding strategies that can help maintain productivity during periods of high temperatures.

A properly balanced diet and high-quality pig feed are important components of modern pig farming, particularly when animals are exposed to additional heat load. Taking the physiological needs of pigs into account and adapting feeding programs to housing and environmental conditions can therefore play an important role in maintaining stable farm performance.

Participation in PIGS FARMING INDUSTRY 2026 gave the VITAGRO Nutrition team an opportunity to share its expertise, discuss practical solutions with industry professionals, and exchange views on current developments in pig farming.
