VITAGRO Nutrition at DAIRY FARMING INDUSTRY 2026

How can dairy producers maintain profitability, improve herd productivity, and keep production costs under control? These were among the key questions discussed at the DAIRY FARMING INDUSTRY International Practical Forum “Challenges. Risks. Changes. Solutions.”, held on October 7–8 with the participation of the VITAGRO Nutrition team.

Over two days, dairy industry professionals explored production economics, herd health and reproduction, farm automation, feed quality, veterinary risks, and adaptation to European standards.

One of the forum’s key topics was efficient youngstock management. Oleksii Ivannikov, Cattle Nutrition Specialist at VITAGRO Nutrition, shared his practical expertise in a presentation titled “Youngstock Rearing Management — Solutions from VITAGRO Nutrition.”

His presentation focused on the economic value of investing in calf rearing. Oleksii discussed practical feeding strategies and explained how decisions made during the early stages of development can influence future animal performance, veterinary costs, and overall dairy farm profitability.

“Investing in a calf is a profitable investment, not an expense! Effective youngstock rearing not only contributes to higher milk yields in the future but also helps reduce veterinary risks, improve herd reproduction, and increase animal productivity throughout their productive lives,” Oleksii Ivannikov concluded.

For dairy businesses, effective youngstock management goes beyond nutrition. It is a strategic tool for improving future herd performance and farm profitability. This was the approach VITAGRO Nutrition shared with forum participants.
