MCFAs enhance immune status through diet
Medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) have antimicrobial properties and can improve the immune status when included in the diet of livestock.
Unlike other organic acids that are effective antimicrobials mainly in the stomach, MCFAs remain active further along the intestinal tract.
Biologically active components stimulate the secretion of hydrolytic enzymes and gastric juice, improving digestion and the absorption of nutrients from feed. They increase the number and length of intestinal villi and enhance the condition of the gastrointestinal epithelium.
They provide strong antibacterial action against pathogenic microorganisms such as E. coli, Salmonella spp., Clostridium perfringens, and Campylobacter spp. They help prevent diarrhea and support the integrity and function of the intestinal barrier.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
According to practical guidelines, adding VITAMIX ACID at a dosage of 0.5 to 4 kg per ton of feed supports pig performance.
